Tips for finding reference books:

  • Search for broad terms related to your topic
    • Example: for a topic of Japanese internment during WWII, try searching for: World War II

  • To find print reference books:
  • on the left sidebar, under Physical Location, choose Reference
  • you may need to choose the More options link to see Reference

  • To find online reference books:
    • on the left sidebar, under Resource Type, choose eBooks
    • you may need to choose the More options link to see eBooks

  • When searching for online reference books, try including (Dictionary OR Encyclopedia) as part of your search 
    • Example: World War II (Dictionary OR Encyclopedia)
