RefWorks: Legacy RefWorks

Legacy RefWorks

RefWorks legacy logo

The Legacy version of RefWorks is available, but we recommend you create an account in ProQuest RefWorks to take advantage of more features. If you have a Legacy account, you can easily move your references into ProQuest RefWorks.

Sign into Legacy Refworks

Can I have accounts in both versions?

Both can be used in tandem. You can experiment with the new version without affecting the Legacy version. However, the two versions do not sync together. Use the transfer citations using the import/export command to move any content from one version to the other.

How does the change affect Write-N-Cite (WNC)?

Write-N-Cite has not changed and can be used with either the new or Legacy version of RefWorks. If you have an older version of Write-N-Cite, you will need to update it to the most current version of WNC to work with new RefWorks. Also, documents created with WNC using the Legacy version cannot be modified with the new Refworks and vice versa.
