Faculty may create shareable folders and playlists in Naxos Music Library, using the UP institutional account. This account uses a separate URL and login credentials and is only available to faculty and staff. Please contact reference@up.edu for information about how to access this account.
Once you have access to the UP institutional account, you may create playlists within sharable folders.
Note: playlists created within personal accounts (under Student/Member logins) are private and are not sharable).
Creating Sharable Folders:
- Login with the UP institutional credentials (email reference@up.edu for access) on the Naxos Music Library home page (NOT the link from other library webpages)
- Select Playlists from menu on the left sidebar
- Under the University of Portland Playlists tab, create a new folder by clicking the + (plus) button (Note: Playlists created under the My Playlists folder won't be visible to others; sharable folders must be created under the University of Portland Playlists folder)
- Label the folder name with your course number and use your name in the Author field
- (Optional) You may choose to require a password to access your folder by checking the box next to Secure Folder. If you do not add a password, any UP user will be able to view and access the playlist.
Creating Course Playlists within your Sharable Folders:
- Within Naxos, find the page that includes the tracks you want to add
- Select tracks by checking the box next to the track names
- Select the + (plus) button above the list of tracks to add them to a playlist
- In the Select location pop-up window, choose your desired playlist and folder from the list or choose New playlist
- Choose Save
- Repeat with additional tracks from other pages as desired
