RefWorks: Reading and Annotating

Reading

Read any full text attached to the references in your RefWorks account by selecting a specific reference and choosing the blue Read button from the pane that displays on the right. The document will open in a document reader that is integrated into RefWorks. If you prefer to view it as a PDF in another document reader, then choose the tray icon in the top menu of the RefWorks reader to download it to your computer.

Annotating

RefWorks has its own document reader that enables you to read, highlight, and make notes or comments on full text documents. See more instructions for Annotating Documents or Articles.

Annotated documents are only viewable in the RefWorks reader. In other words, if you print the document, it will not include your highlighting or annotations.

If you are sharing a document in your RefWorks account with others at UP so they can also annotate it, then select the appropriate level of access for them (annotate or modify).
