Use of Images

Images saved by choosing the "Download" option to the right of the image may be used for scholarly purposes, such as student papers or presentations. Images may not be used for commercial purposes, such as publications. See Artstor's Permitted & Prohibited Uses.

Note: you need to create an Artstor user account to download and save images. 

Images for Academic Publishing

Certain images associated with the Images for Academic Publishing (IAP) initiative may be downloaded for noncommercial scholarly publication.

Search for IAP images by including IAP as a keyword in your search.

Users will be prompted to agree to the IAP Terms & Conditions of Use.

Link to Your Images from Off Campus

In Artstor, users may create permanent links by locating the box labeled "COPY" to the right of the image. The URL provided in that box will not work off-campus, and must have the following added to it:

  • Before the https:// add https://login.uportland.idm.oclc.org/login?url=
