Finding Research Articles in Biology

Search Tips

Tip #1: Add more search terms to increase the precision of your search.

Starting Search Terms Synonyms
environmental factors pH or salinity or temperature
enzyme activity characterization or kinetics
peroxidase

Tip #2: Look for an option to Refine results to a specific "document type" or "publication type." This enables you look at the research articles within your larger set of results.

Tip #3: Databases usually sort results by date and display the newest publications first. Change the sort order to Relevance to bring better results to the top.
