If you have a list of formatted citations from a published article, or your own paper, you can use the AnyStyle.io parser to create citation files to add to a reference manager. Note: The data you get from the parser may need to be cleaned up after you import it into your reference manager.
- Copy the text of citations from an existing document.
- Paste the citations into the AnyStyle.io website where it says Paste your references here.
- Choose the Parse button.
- If there are pieces that aren't parsed correctly, click on the text and choose Assign label. Then choose the correct data type to link to the text (use CTRL to select multiple items or double-click to select an entire segment).
- After making any changes, scroll down to Save and choose BibTeX. This should start a download of the .bib file.
- Import the .bib file into your reference manager. We recommend using Zotero.
