FE and PE Exams

Engineering licensure is administered by the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES).

The Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam is often a first step to becoming a professional licensed engineer (PE). It is designed for recent graduates and students close to finishing an undergraduate engineering degree from an EAC/ABET-accredited program. (More details from NCEES)

The Principles and Practice of Engineering (PE) exam tests for a minimum level of competency in a particular engineering discipline. It is designed for engineers who have gained a minimum of four years post-college work experience in their chosen engineering discipline. (More details from NCEES)

Fundamentals of Engineering Exam Review (Coursera)
The purpose of this (free) course is to review the material covered in the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam to enable the student to pass it. It will be presented in modules corresponding to the FE topics, particularly those in Civil and Mechanical Engineering. Each module will review main concepts, illustrate them with examples, and provide extensive practice problems.
