Spring 2021 Library Services: Study Spaces

In Person

During spring semester the library has 100 study seats on the main floor for use by students, faculty, and staff in the University's COVID testing pool: 53 reservable and 47 first-come-first-served. One of the reservable seats has a computer workstation.

Students, staff, and faculty must be part of the testing pool to study in the library.

Please sign in at the entrance station before using the first-come first-served seats.

Use our Library Seats form to reserve a seat. Select the map of study spaces below to see a larger version in a new window.

Image Description:

The study space map shows four shaded areas:

1. Red: The main walkway extends from the library entrance past the service desk and the area with copiers and printers. Immediately after the library entrance, you'll find a table where you can sign in to use the first-come first-served seats; on the map it is marked with a star.

Please use the walkway for most of your travel through the building. Keep to the right; travel on this walkway goes in both directions.

2. Purple: Immediately to the left of the entrance and main walkway are located first-come first-served seats (1 – 13, 15 - 48). Please sign in at the entrance station before using these seats.

3. Gold: At the back of the library, beyond the first-come first-served seats, are seats that can be reserved (49 - 100). Near the service desk is another gold area for a reservable computer workstation, seat #14.

4. Pink: Along the front of the building between the purple and gold areas are four study rooms that can be reserved: 104, 105, 106, 107.

All study spaces, including study rooms, are single-person use.

Cleaning and hand sanitizer stations are also indicated on the map. Cleaning stations are indicated with a green circle with a "C" in the middle. Hand Sanitizer stations are indicated with a light blue circle with an "H" in the middle.
