How to Find Reviews of the Research?

Handbooks bring together essays on research in a wide variety of topics, written by experts on that area. They can give you background knowledge of research topics for your own investigation, and guide you to influential articles for your own research.
Journals sometimes publish reviews of research on a particular topic. Some journals publish only reviews: Annals of the International Communication Association; Communication Yearbook; Review of Communication Research.

Annals of the International Communication Association (1997- )
Formerly Communication Yearbook, which is included in this archive. Publishes state-of-the-discipline literature reviews and essays, including: descriptive reviews; meta-analyses; and theoretical essays.
Communication Yearbook (1977 - 2016)
Search within Communication Yearbook in the Communication Source database. Clark Library has 2001 - 2016 as eBook and 1977 - 2013 in print.
Review of Communication Research (2013- )
Review of Communication Research publishes an annual volume with comprehensive and authoritative reviews of the current state of the main topics and the most significant developments in the field of Communication. These comprehensive critical reviews summarize the latest advances in the field, but also root out errors and will provoke intellectual discussions among scholars.
