IRB

Whether you are a student, a faculty member, or a faculty member supervising student research, any research and classroom projects involving human subjects carried out by members of the University community must seek approval from the Institutional Review Board.

The University of Portland Institutional Review Board (IRB) consists of faculty and community members who function to safeguard the rights and welfare of participants in research activities originating in the University. The IRB exercises oversight and review of research initiated by faculty, staff members, and students in connection with their respective academic pursuits.

For complete IRB regulations, policies, and forms, see the IRB FAQ.
