Distance Education Student Services: Additional Options for Edmonton Students

Overview

In addition to requesting books from UP's Clark Library, Edmonton students also have options for accessing books from local libraries.

The Alberta Library (TAL)

WorldCat is an option for locating books at libraries near Edmonton students.

Students can search for a specific book. When viewing the full record of the book, libraries near you that own it should be displayed first. (If your location doesn't seem to be accurate, choose the location displayed in the top right corner of the screen, then enter Alberta, Canada in the Update Location box, and select the Update Location button.

Next, check out the book with the Alberta Library (TAL) Card, available from your public library. You might also be able to use your public library's interlibrary loan service to obtain a copy of the book.

Note: Delivery times vary. Check with your local library to get an estimate on how long it might take. If you have a short timeline, it might be better to see if a specific book is available from UP (i.e., either in our eBook collection or physical collection).
