Fall 2020 Library Services: Items We Can Deliver Online

Receive Scanned Articles and Chapters

Clark Library's Interlibrary Loan service, UP ILLiad, can supply you with scans from items in our and other libraries' collections:

  • Book chapters, including entries from our print reference books
  • Articles from journals and magazines

To ask us to scan items, fill out a Book Chapter or Article request form, after logging in to your UP ILLiad account. See the box to the right to set up your UP ILLiad account.

Alternatively, you can request book chapter scans through the library catalog.

You will receive an email when PDFs are available within your UP ILLiad account, on average within three days. The PDFs stay in your account for 30 days; we recommend downloading them to your computer.

This service is available at no charge to current UP students, faculty, and staff.

Email or chat with us for help filling out a request form, or email Interlibrary Loan with questions about that service.

Additional Guidance on Ordering Book Chapters

We can obtain up to 10% of each book, whether owned by UP or not, due to copyright law.

To abide by copyright law, Clark Library considers four factors of Fair Use, including "the amount and substantiality of the portion used in relation to the copyrighted work as a whole." Staff also consult copyright guidelines.
