Requesting Clark Library Books

The Clark Library can mail books from our collection to distance education students. However, we can't borrow books from other libraries on behalf of Edmonton students due to the short loan periods and the time needed to ship them to/from Edmonton.

To get books from the Clark Library's collection:

Tips for Searching for Books

Use the Format options on the left side of the search results page to see:

eBooks - access them immediately online!

Print Books - find a print book that you want to request, then:

  • Open another tab in your browser, and go to UP ILLiad (Interlibrary Loan)
  • Choose the New Requests menu, then Book/Media 
  • Copy and paste the information about the book you want into the form
  • Select the Submit Request button
  • The book will be mailed to you and should arrive in about 3-5 days

Only need a chapter from a book? You can request it through UP ILLiad (Interlibrary Loan) and we will deliver it to you online as a PDF.

Book Shipping & Return

Book Delivery:

Books will be shipped to Canadian students via FedEx International Economy, in about 3-5 days.

Returning Books:

A prepaid shipping label will be included for returning the books to the University of Portland. You are responsible for prompt return of borrowed books.
