Mendeley: Organizing References

All References

All the references you upload or input into your Mendeley library are visible in the All References tab, which can be found on the left toolbar.

New Collection

To sort references into folders with specific topics, select New Collection on the left toolbar and type in either the topic or project you would like the folder to be titled as.

You can also add sub-folders by creating new collections, then dragging and dropping them onto the name of the collection you would like the sub-folder to be under.

After a new collection is created, you can either drag or directly upload references into the folder through Mendeley Reference Manager or through Mendeley Web Importer. References can also be sorted in this manner for specific groups.

You can add references to your Favorites list by selecting the star to the right of the reference title. Favorited references can be found in the Favorites folder on the left toolbar.

You can sort your references into the private and public groups you are part of by simply dragging either individual references or collections to a group's name on the left tab menu. | 503.943.7111 or 800.841.8261 | 5000 N. Willamette Blvd., Portland, OR 97203-5798
