How to Use the Library

The Clark Library also manages a Digital Lab located in the Shiley-Marcos Center for Design & Innovation, Room 301. It supports students working on multimedia projects with a variety of resources including equipment, software, studio production spaces, and other support to aid in the creation of multimedia projects.

Equipment

Digital Lab equipment (cameras, tripods, sound recorders and more) is available for checkout. Use of equipment is reserved for current students, faculty and staff. Loan periods are 24 hours. Extended loan periods are subject to equipment availability.

Support

The Digital Lab is self-service but staffed by a coordinator and student assistants who can help current students with producing audio, video, photography, and design projects. The Lab's coordinator offers support on a variety of multimedia software including:

  • Adobe Creative Cloud (Illustrator, Photoshop, Lightroom, InDesign, Premiere Pro, Audition, etc.).
  • Apple's iMovie video editing and GarageBand music production software

Workshops

The Lab also offers free, one-hour workshops to current students, faculty, staff and alumni (space permitting).

Workshops are offered each fall, spring, and summer session. Past topics have included:

  • Illustrator
  • Photoshop
  • Lightroom
  • Website Building
  • Creating Electronic Music
